REV. DR. HALLIE
RICHARDSON, JR.

In 2018, Rev. Richardson received his Doctoral Degree from the New York Theological Seminary School, where his concentration of studies focused on Faith Based Community and Organizational Development.
Rev. Richardson is the proud author of the book titled Men of David: The Psyschosocialspiritual Condition of the African American Male in the 21st Century.  Rev. Richardson is a certified Life Coach, Mediator, and Grant Writer; and he is currently a candidate earning his Certification and Licensure as a Faith Based Family and Marriage Counselor.


Rev. Richardson was previously employed as a Family Service Specialist with the Newport News Department of Human Services located in Hampton, VA.
Rev. Richardson served 17 years as the Senior Pastor of the Little Zion Baptist Church in Hampton, VA, located in the beautiful Historical Aberdeen Gardens Community.
Rev. Richardson also serves as the President of the Baptist Sunday School Union of Hampton.  He is the Secretary of the Board of Directors for Virginia One Church One Child.  He is also a member of the Peninsula Chapter of 100 Black Men of America, Inc, and a Presenter for the National Baptist Student Union Retreat.


Rev. Richardson is the former Secretary for the Peninsula Baptist Pastor Council, Director of Youth and Young Adult for the Tidewater-Peninsula Baptist Association and the former Director of the Youth and Young Adult Department of the Virginia Baptist State Convention, Inc.
Rev. Richardson has also served as the Director of Youth and Young Adults for the Progressive National Baptist Convention for the State of Virginia and he was the 1st Vice President of the Eastern Region Young Men’s Department of the Progressive National Baptist Convention, as well as the workshop presenter for the Congress of Christian Education for the Progressive and National Baptist Convention.
Rev. Richardson is an honored recipient of the “Who’s Who of American Professionals” and received numerous accolades in the state of Virginia that include, but are not limited to the Community Service Award from the Coalition of Concerned Citizens for his active role of providing community service programs in the Historical Aberdeen Gardens Community.
Currently, Rev. Dr. Hallie Richardson, Jr. is the Senior Pastor of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, located in Newark, NJ.


Rev. Richardson is married to the former Beverly L. Williams, a native of Suffolk, VA and is also the proud father of three children, Paula, Whitley and Juwaan, and also has two adorable grandchildren, Jeremiah and Kahleem.
Most importantly, as Dr. Richardson serves the people of the church and the community, his major priority and goal is to effectively teach and preach the Word of God whereby the Soul and the Saint will be encouraged and the life of the unsaved will be changed.
1 Corinthians 2:9 states “But as it is written: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

Rev. Dr. Hallie Richardson, Jr. is a native of Hampton, VA.  Rev. Richardson matriculated at Norfolk State University where he majored in Social Work.  He studied Organizational Management and earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Virginia University in Lynchburg, VA.  

 

Rev. Richardson furthered his education at Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University, earning a Masters of Divinity and Masters of Christian Education.

Sis. Richardson was educated in the Suffolk Public School System graduating from Suffolk High School in June of 1985.  After graduation, Sis. Richardson began studies Paul D. Camp Community College in Suffolk majoring in Early Childhood Development and began her career with the City of Suffolk Municipal Department with the City of Suffolk, where she coordinated and supervised youth enrichment programs, after school learning programs as well as summer camps for the local housing communities.
Upon the union to Rev. Dr. Hallie Richardson, Jr Sis. Richardson continued her career after relocating to Edenton, North Carolina with the Methodist Home for Children as a Program Assistant mentoring and servicing youth in the Juvenile Department of Corrections, during this time Sis. Richardson continued her education at the College of the Albemarle in Edenton in Early Childhood Development.  
After relocating back to Virginia, Sis. Richardson continued her career working with young people and became a teacher with the Head Start Program in the Lincoln Park Housing Community.  Sis. Richardson remained with Head Start for several and continued her education at Thomas Nelson Community College.

 

Sis. Richardson is currently employed by Visibility Resources as a Direct Consumer Supervisor, working with Developmentally challenged adults at Visibilities Services as a Consumer Supervisor.  In addition, Sis. Richardson is a Housing Manager for United and Empowered Care.
Ms. Richardson has developed several community outreach programs, the Yearly Angel Tree Drive to provide youth and families with Christmas gifts, the Triumphant Women of Zion, a program to develop young women and encourage the seasoned mothers with the tools needed for Godly Women in the 21st Century.


Sis. Richardson is the coordinator and founder of a Women’s Faith Based Focused Group, “The Women’s White Social”.  This event brings women of all ages, cultures, and ethnic backgrounds together to participate in an open forum to address the challenges of women, mothers and wives. Sis. Richardson also coordinates the “Blue and White Ball” a faith-based cotillion for young ladies to have the debutante experience.


Sis. Richardson is the wife of the Rev. Dr. Hallie Richardson, Jr., pastor of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey and is the proud mother of three children, Paula, Juwaan, Whitley, and grandmother of two boys, Jerimiah and Kaleem.
But foremost and important to Sis. Richardson is her service not only to people, but to God through the ministry He has placed upon her as a servant.
“If I could help somebody as I travel along, If I could help somebody with a word or a song. Then my living shall not be in vain.”

Beverly Lynn Richardson was born to Edith Williams and the late Pernell Williams, October 17, 1966 in Suffolk, Virginia and is the nineth child of twelve.

 

Sis. Richardson is a member of the Macedonia African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church located in Historic Downton Suffolk Virginia, where she served in the Youth Choir, Ushers Ministry, Mass Choir, and Vacation Bible School teacher.
